Nazarene Foundation Gift Planning
Weekly Thought
from Melvin McCullough, President
Faithfulness in generosity is not a hit-and-miss approach to giving...it is a lifestyle. Generosity enables God's people to finish the task. "...Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have" (2 Cor. 8:10b-12, NIV).

Congress Opens Up IRAs for Charitable Giving

Congress extended the opportunity for individuals over 70 1/2 years of age to make tax-free transfers to qualified charities from Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) during 2009. Not all charities are qualified under the law to receive IRA transfer dollars -- but local churches do qualify. Action must be taken by the donors prior to December 21st to be sure that IRA charitable transfers will be completed before year-end. For more information, contact us at 866-273-2549 or by email.
Pastors, we also offer downloadable resources that you may use to publicize this for your congregation.
